Get Pregnant Soon - Your Checklist

Not sure what to do? Need a checklist on how to get pregnant soon to keep on track?
  • Get your yearly physical.
    • Ask your doctor to check your thyroid and vitamin D levels.
    • Discuss fertility for both you and your partner.
    • Ask to be tested for food allergies. If you eat foods you're allergic to, you may be creating a hostile and toxic reaction in your body.
  • Get your annual pap smear.
    • Ask about having your hormone levels checked.
    • Discuss any family history of infertility.
    • Ask your gyno if you need to have a sonogram to detect any fibroids if you never have before.
      • Warning, this type of sonogram involves having a long rod inserted into your vagina. This rod is then hooked up to the sonogram machine. This is also the same type of sonogram you have when you are newly pregnant. It's the only way for them to detect anything that small.
  • Start taking a walk or exercising 30 minutes a day.
    • Don't forget to stretch and drink plenty of water.
  • Clean up your diet.
    • Eliminate as much processed foods as you can.
    • Avoid trans fats.
    • Avoid gluten.
    • If needed, seek out gluten and trans fat free alternatives. Major grocery stores carry gluten free pastas, cake mixes, and treats.
    • Eat more nuts, fruits and vegetables.
    • Add a little cinnamon to your diet (like in hot tea) to regulate spikes in your insulin.
    • Eat hormone free meats and dairy when needed.
    • Consider adding pure, virgin coconut oil to your diet.
  • Get more rest.
    • Your body can't function on a lack of sleep, and your fertility will suffer.
  • Time your ovulation with a fertility calculator and track it with a basal thermometer
    • Don't forget to time your intimacy accordingly, and pad in a few days before and after your fertility peak.
    • Skip the manufactured lubricant. Try mineral oil or Preseed, a lubricant that is often recommended by doctors and claims to actually assist with conception.
  • Consider acupuncture or acupressure.
    • Even doctors often prescribe acupuncture before invitro fertilization.
    • There are acupuncturists who specialize in fertility issues.
    • For affordable care, look for a community acupuncture center or acupuncture school with a sliding scale.
